Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a licensed Architect to lead planning, design, and delivery of federal and institutional projects from our Billings or Boise office. You will drive architecture solutions, coordinate multi-discipline teams, and mentor staff while maintaining compliance with codes and agency requirements.

The role emphasizes federal permitting, agency standards, and building codes with a focus on delivering meaningful work in the public sector. Strong Revit/AutoCAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NAAB-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Current architectural license/registration.
• 10+ years of progressive professional architectural experience.
• Experience with federal government projects and compliance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and zoning.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong Adobe CS, Bluebeam, Office knowledge.
• Ability to coordinate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple project phases with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through construction with federal/institutional focus.
• Mentor team members and strengthen client relationships.
• Prepare and coordinate drawings and BIM models across project phases.
• Develop schematic and design development concepts with project leadership.
• Coordinate with consultants and engineers; ensure code compliance.
• Review construction documents for accuracy and constructability.
• Support federal permitting and regulatory review processes.
