Job summary

Cushing Terrell, based in Missoula or Bozeman, seeks a licensed Architect to contribute to planning, design, and delivery of architectural projects while leading teams and coordinating with consultants.

You will apply codes and firm standards with limited supervision, mentor junior staff, and strengthen client relationships across high-end residential, multi-family, or commercial projects.

Qualifications

• NAAB-accredited architecture degree with current license/registration.
• 8+ years of progressive architectural experience demonstrating increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and ability to apply them independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from conception to completion with high-quality delivery.
• Lead small project teams and provide guidance to maintain standards.
• Independently prepare and coordinate architectural drawings and BIM models across project phases.
• Develop schematic design and design development concepts with project leadership.
• Translate project goals into clear design vision and engaging solutions.
• Review work for compliance with project requirements, codes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate architectural scope with consultants and other disciplines.
• Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy and constructability.
• Perform code analysis and support permitting and regulatory review processes.
• Develop and refine construction cost estimates with project teams.
• Lead construction administration activities on small to medium projects.
