Cushing Terrell in Missoula or Bozeman seeks an experienced licensed Architect to lead design teams on diverse projects. You will manage from concept to construction, coordinate with consultants, and drive high-quality documentation and BIM models.

With 8+ years of experience and strong knowledge of codes, you will mentor junior designers, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to studio leadership, while delivering design excellence across residential, multi-family, and commercial work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program and licensure in the US.
• 8+ years of progressive professional architectural experience with increasing responsibility.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of building codes, zoning, and construction methods with independent problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Lead small project teams, review work to maintain standards and guide others.
• Independently prepare and coordinate drawings and BIM models across phases.
• Develop schematic and design development concepts with project leadership.
• Translate goals into a clear vision and produce engaging architectural solutions.
• Review work for code compliance, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate scope with engineers and other disciplines; support permitting.
• Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy and constructability.
