Job summary

Apple, Inc. in Cupertino, California, is seeking a Senior FEA Engineer to lead structural, thermal and dynamic analysis of flat panel displays, modules and system integration. You will own and drive analysis for early design optimization and root cause failure analysis.

The role requires 10+ years of advanced FEA experience, proficiency in Abaqus/ANSYS, and strong collaboration across cross-functional teams. Base pay for this role ranges with location and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree minimum in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of advanced FEA experience in industrial settings.
• Experience in mechanics of materials and understanding complex physical mechanisms from first principles.
• Experience with FEA software Abaqus (Implicit & Explicit) or ANSYS.
• Experience with static, dynamic, and thermal–mechanical simulations in industrial settings.
• Experience in material constitutive models including metals, brittle materials, plastics, and adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Generate FEA/analytical models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies; perform static, dynamic, structural, and thermal–mechanical analysis.
• Own material characterization and testing plans to support modeling; familiarity with adhesives and flat panel display materials preferred.
• Drive modeling methods for modules across programs and ensure consistent analysis.
• Coordinate with analysts to integrate module models into larger systems.
• Communicate analysis results to team and management regularly.
• Lead failure analysis and design of experiments to resolve complex problems.
• Propose data‑driven solutions based on analysis results.
• Create engineering specifications and processes for early analysis and validation of critical issues.
