Job summary

The Boeing Company seeks a Lead Fault & Autonomy Engineer for Experimental Space Programs in El Segundo, onsite only. You will lead fault-tolerance engineering for first-of-kind space vehicles, develop autonomy aligned with risk tolerance, and present review packages to senior leadership.

You will analyze failure modes, drive software requirements for onboard fault protection, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across satellites, launch vehicles, and missions.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required for this role.
  • BS degree in engineering, engineering tech, physics, or CS.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of failure analysis experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support technology integration for space vehicles and missions.
  • Develop and present review packages to senior leadership.
  • Ensure redundancy for fault tolerance in hardware designs.
  • Develop onboard fault protection software requirements.
  • Design autonomous procedures to recover from failures.
  • Provide on-call support for system anomalies.
