Job summary

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. in Queens, NY, is seeking a Senior Family Specialist for the Jamaica facility.

The role oversees a team of Family Specialists, develops youth-focused programs, and ensures a nurturing environment for families and children. You will coordinate recreational activities, partner with internal teams and community partners, manage staff schedules, track attendance, and prepare reports.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor’s degree required.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading activities with children, teens, and adults.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs for children and families.
• Collaborate with internal departments and community partners for events and workshops.
• Create and manage an event schedule with inclusive options for varied ages.
• Oversee staff scheduling and prepare agendas for staff meetings.
• Maintain attendance records, conduct evaluations, and report findings.
• Recruit, hire, train, and support staff to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Manage a K–12 recreation program focused on youth development.
