Job description

Job Overview: A respected law firm specializing in family law is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney to join their team in the California Bay Area. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and skilled attorney with at least 4 years of experience in family law to make a meaningful impact on clients’ lives. The Senior Attorney will lead family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and property division, and will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of legal service and client advocacy. While this position is primarily remote, in-person attendance will be required for court appearances and occasional client meetings.

Location:

  • San Jose, CA

Duties:

  • Handle a wide range of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and property division matters.
  • Represent clients in court, making all necessary in-court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs to support client cases.
  • Meet with clients as needed to provide legal advice and status updates on cases.
  • Collaborate effectively with paralegals, fellow attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure efficient case handling.
  • Attend mediation and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain strong client communication to ensure a supportive and positive client experience.
  • Stay current with developments in family law and incorporate new legal trends and practices into client representation.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in family law.
  • Active admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Exceptional writing skills, demonstrated through writing samples.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to handle competing priorities.
  • A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong professional references supporting expertise and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (Required).

  • Proven ability to manage diverse family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and property division.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills for successful settlement outcomes.
