Senior Failure Analysis Engineer - Physical Analysis of Electronic Modules

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical analyses to identify root causes of defects in electronic and electro-mechanical products and circuits.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to improve product quality.
  • Create detailed analysis reports and provide technical support for findings.
  • Share expertise within the global network of analysis labs.

Position Details:

  • Two FA engineer positions available at the QL Harmon Road analysis lab.
  • One position may include supervisory responsibilities for a team of 5-8 engineers, based on qualifications.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Outstanding problem-solving, attention to detail, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Strong collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in physical analysis of electronic modules, circuits, or related qualifications.
  • Advanced electronics knowledge, including materials and impact of real-world effects.
  • Experience with analysis techniques like curve tracing, probing, HiPot testing, optical imaging, X-ray imaging, SEM/EDX.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. No sponsorship or relocation assistance provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics failure analysis.
  • Experience with thermal incidents and automotive electronic design.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and advanced analysis techniques like FIB, SAM, Auger, XPS.
  • Leadership experience in team management.
