Job summary

Ring Inc in Menlo Park is seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to own investigations of electrical failures and scale FA throughput for a new class of power generation systems.

You will lead hands-on investigations, drive root cause analysis, collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and reliability teams, and build a knowledge base while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 5–8+ years in failure analysis, electrical troubleshooting, or reliability engineering.
• Deep expertise in system-level electrical interactions and EMC/ EMI issues.
• Proficient in structured problem solving (8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why).
• Strong communication to present FA data to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hands-on Investigations: troubleshoot electrical enclosures and hardware.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis: pinpoint failure mechanisms and define CAPA.
• Accelerate FA Throughput: streamline workflows for faster feedback.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: work with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability.
• Build the Knowledge Base: document workflows and failure data.
• Coach and Mentor: guide junior engineers and technicians.
