Job summary

Renesas seeks a Senior Manager of Field Applications Engineering (FAE) in the Greater Boston area to lead a high-performance team supporting strategic customers. This hands-on, player-coach role combines technical ownership with strategic leadership across embedded processing, MCU/MPU, and connectivity products.

You will mentor FAEs, partner with Sales to drive strategy, and translate customer needs into new solutions while guiding cross-functional collaboration to influence roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in ARM and/or MCU-based embedded processing design.
• 3+ years in people leadership (team lead/manager).
• Strong embedded processor design and debugging with RTOS/Linux tools.
• Good understanding of hardware design and MCU schematics.
• Proven ability to liaise with customers on technical topics through production.
• Excellent English communication, ability to translate concepts.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead technical interface for customers on Renesas MCU/MPU/Connectivity products.
• Partner with Sales to define and implement the embedded processing sales strategy.
• Determine customer requirements and propose products/solutions for end users.
• Help develop business by collecting feedback and market trends for new solutions.
• Manage and drive issue escalations to ensure rapid, high-quality resolutions.
• Provide clear program updates to senior leadership.
• Lead and develop a team of FAEs across the Renesas portfolio.
• Set role clarity, expectations and development targets for team members.
• Coordinate resource allocation balancing customer priorities and team bandwidth.
• Collaborate with Product Line, Marketing, and Sales Enablement on roadmaps.
