Job summary

MCPHS School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks a full-time faculty member to teach and mentor students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - General program. Responsibilities include classroom, lab, online and clinical instruction across Extended Abdominal, MSK, OB/GYN, Breast and Small parts, plus service and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is the minimum; Master’s preferred.
• ARDMS certification in OB/GYN and Extended Abdominal required; others preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in radiology general sonography or OB/GYN.
• Minimum of 1 year of college/university teaching experience preferred but not essential.
• Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment.
• Evidence of teaching excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction in multiple formats.
• Provide syllabus with objectives, outcomes, assessments and policies.
• Engage students with real-world applications and engaging assignments.
• Participate in service activities and committees at School/University level.
• Pursue scholarly activities including conference presentations and publications.
• Utilize LMS to post materials and communicate with students.
• Advise students via office hours, email or appointments.
• Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and annual reporting.
• Coordinate externship sites and community involvement.
• Maintain program curriculum relevance and faculty development.
