Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Lead Facility Operations Consultant to partner with building owners, operators, and stakeholders to translate goals into strategic planning across facility operations, asset management and capital planning.

The role drives resilience, lifecycle optimization and data-driven decision making while guiding teams in safety, compliance and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, facility management and operations, commissioning or construction management required.
• Advanced degrees or certifications related to facilities, operations, or asset management are preferred.
• 7+ years of work experience actively consulting and/or supporting facility operations, asset management or operational planning is required.
• Experience working with building owners or operators in a consulting/advisory capacity and in developing operational plans, SOPs, capital strategies, continuity planning, or performance documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement of building owners, operators, and stakeholders to understand operational goals and performance challenges.
• Translate owner goals into structured planning efforts that support efficiency, resilience, and lifecycle optimization.
• Serve as a strategic advisor, helping owners prioritize initiatives and align strategies with business outcomes.
• Develop Facility Operations Plans aligning people, processes, and technology with owner objectives.
• Document SOPs to support consistent operations and create ConOps for normal and abnormal conditions.
• Support COOP to maintain critical functions during disruptions.
• Lead Operational Resilience Planning including social and governance resilience, and analytics-driven decision making.
• Lead asset lifecycle strategies and capital/project prioritization based on risk and performance goals.
• Provide input to repair-versus-replace decision frameworks using data-driven analysis.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure planning reflects current requirements and best practices.
• Mentor junior staff and stay updated on sustainability trends and industry tools.
