Job summary

Henderson Engineers seeks a Lead Facility Operations Consultant to partner with building owners and operators, translating complex goals into actionable plans across operations, asset management, safety, capital planning, and compliance.

You will guide clients through planning efforts to strengthen operational continuity, optimize resources, and align investments with long-term outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, facility management and operations, commissioning or construction management required.
• An equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience in facility management, commissioning, or the architecture, engineering, or construction industry may be considered.
• Advanced degrees or certifications related to facilities, operations, or asset management are preferred.
• 7+ years of work experience actively consulting and/or supporting facility operations, asset management or operational planning is required.
• Experience working with building owners/operators in a consulting/advisory capacity and developing operational plans, SOPs, capital strategies, continuity planning, or performance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement of building owners, operators, and stakeholders to understand operational goals and performance challenges.
• Facilitate discussions to define operational objectives, success metrics, and decision-making frameworks.
• Translate owner goals into structured planning efforts that support efficiency, resilience, and lifecycle optimization.
• Serve as a strategic advisor, helping owners prioritize initiatives and align strategies with business outcomes.
• Develop Facility Operations Plans that align people, processes, and technology with owner objectives.
• Create SOPs and ConOps to define normal and abnormal facility operations.
• Support COOP to ensure facilities maintain critical functions during disruptions.
• Lead operational resilience planning with governance, staffing, and data-driven insights.
• Develop capital, asset, and lifecycle strategies and prioritize projects based on risk and performance goals.
• Identify safety, compliance, and regulatory considerations and reduce operational risk.
• Maintain proactive client communication and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Mentor junior staff and promote continuous learning and inclusion across projects.
• Support business development through relationships and industry engagement.
