Senior Facility Mechanical Engineer - Facility Asset Management (FAM)

Role Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer supports Walt Disney World Orlando, including all Facility Operation Services (FOS) and occasional Operating Teams. Responsibilities include developing future work plans, overseeing projects, and providing high-level technical support to clients.

Reporting To

Manager of Programs Project Design Support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design reviews, engineering calculations, creating drawings, and supporting field installations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical equipment (HVAC, boilers, pools, kitchens, pumps, fire alarm, smoke evacuation).
  • Review and approve job plans, drawings, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications.
  • Implement tools to streamline design processes, utilizing CAD/Revit software.
  • Enhance troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and new technologies.
  • Develop asset management strategies covering lifecycle, replacement, and energy efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and training for project teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships and stay informed on new products and services.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Document best practices and standards.
  • Seek continuous improvement through feedback.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • PE License.
  • At least 7 years of experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, fuel, gas, ventilation, pools, and kitchen systems.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Strong analytical skills with hand calculations for heat load, energy modeling, gas capacity, and heat transfer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in similar design roles.
Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
