Job summary

Last Energy seeks a full-time Facility Engineer to lead the engineering system ownership of the PWR-5 Reactor facility, overseeing configuration, maintenance, and change management to meet DOE requirements.

This high-ownership role bridges engineering and operations, maintaining rigorous configuration and equipment records, and coordinating with vendors and operations to ensure safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, nuclear, electrical, or systems engineering is required.
• 10+ years of operations or plant engineering experience in regulated environments.
• Strong systems-level thinking and ability to document complex interactions.
• Hands-on plant or facility experience around operating or construction-phase facilities.
• Experience with DOE or NRC regulatory frameworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the PWR-5 facility configuration and maintain an up-to-date record of all systems, structures, and components.
• Build and maintain the Master Equipment List (MEL) with version control.
• Develop a comprehensive maintenance management plan covering preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
• Evaluate changes to facility configuration and ensure reviews and approvals before implementation.
• Act as liaison between engineering and operations to reflect realities in documentation.
• Support DOE compliance related to configuration management and maintenance documentation.
• Conduct facility walkdowns and reconcile as-built vs design conditions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on modifications and maintenance activities.
• Maintain a running log of configuration changes, open actions, and maintenance history; provide status updates.
• Support incident reviews and corrective action programs related to facility systems.
