Job summary

AOI is seeking a Senior Facility Electrician in Sugar Land, TX to perform commercial electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, equipment support, and safe power distribution across the facility.

The candidate will mentor electricians, maintain thorough documentation, and ensure compliance with NEC and safety standards while supporting general facility needs as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 8 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
• Lead complex electrical issues as a technical expert.
• Comply with NEC, local codes, and safety standards.
• Experience with troubleshooting, conduit bending, and power distribution.
• Experience with motors, panels, breakers, and lighting systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and single-line diagrams.
• Knowledge of building control and automation systems is a plus.
• Chemical and Cleanroom experience is a plus.
• Strong communication with employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Reading blueprints is preferred.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot circuits, panels, lighting, outlets, breakers, motor controls, and wiring.
• Inspect electric rooms, distribution panels, backup power; notify management of repairs.
• Plan and execute projects with minimal guidance.
• Mentor electricians and technicians.
• Maintain inspections, repairs, testing, and equipment records.
• Follow SOPs and update work orders and statuses.
• Ensure work meets NEC, codes, standards and safety rules.
• Identify and correct hazardous conditions.
• Oversee electrical work by vendors/contractors.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and parts; create purchase requests.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and inventory logs.
• Coordinate with vendors on site and escort them if needed.
• Perform other tasks (Plumbing, HVAC, building repair) as required.
