Job summary

Applied-Optoelectronics-Inc in Sugar Land, TX seeks a Senior Facility Electrician to lead complex electrical maintenance across the facility, troubleshoot circuits, panels, lighting, and motor controls, and ensure safe power distribution per NEC and local codes.

You will mentor technicians, document inspections and repairs, coordinate with vendors, and support building systems (HVAC, plumbing) as needed. Night shifts or weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
• Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and single-line diagrams.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, conduit bending, and power distribution.
• Ability to work in tight spaces and outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial electrical work including troubleshooting circuits, panels, lighting systems, outlets, breakers, motor controls, and equipment wiring.
• Inspect electric rooms, distribution panels, backup power, and report repair needs.
• Plan and execute projects with minor guidance; mentor technicians.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and safety requirements.
• Document inspections, repairs, testing, and equipment records.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors; escort them on site as needed.
