Job summary

Supreme Court of Ohio seeks an experienced Facilities Technician III to join the Facilities Management team at the Ohio Judicial Center. This advanced-level role maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and improves complex mechanical and building systems within a large Class A high-rise facility.

Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and life-safety systems, with the ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible facilities maintenance experience.
• Advanced experience troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and building systems.
• Ability to perform self-directed maintenance with limited supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of multiple skilled trades.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Experience safely using specialized tools, meters, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance machinery.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform advanced maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and life-safety systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment and building-system problems and determine repairs or adjustments.
• Maintain, repair, replace, and install mechanical equipment, components, and systems per specs and safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot pumps, motors, VFDs, air-handling equipment, hydronic systems, cooling towers, boilers.
• Work with building automation and energy-management systems to diagnose operating problems.
• Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting up to 480 volts when trained and authorized.
• Maintain high-rise plumbing and pumping systems.
