Job summary

J H Operating Company, LLC, an EPC firm serving upstream and midstream oil & gas, seeks a Facilities & Project Engineer in the Baton Rouge area. You will manage projects from concept through commissioning, leading design, procurement, and project management for capital infrastructure.

The role requires evaluating operability, reliability, and costs while coordinating with clients, field personnel, and vendors. Expect 10–15% travel and active participation in safety reviews and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline required.
• Five or more years of upstream Oil & Gas or midstream Petrochemical experience.
• Ability to balance operability, reliability, capital, and operating costs.
• Knowledge of API, ASME and ANSI standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; travel to sites is required.
• Willingness to pass an in-depth drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead/participate in design, procurement, and project management from concept to commissioning.
• Develop P&ID sketches for the drawing team and review 3D and layout drawings.
• Contribute to hazard reviews, safety evaluations, and operating procedures.
• Support field-commissioning activities and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
• Prepare equipment specifications and administer RFPs for equipment/services.
• Travel to plant sites and vendor locations, approximately 10–15%.
