Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama seeks a seasoned facilities leader to develop and enforce policies ensuring safe, functional, and compliant buildings and leased offices. You will negotiate contracts, oversee maintenance, and coordinate renovations and corporate events, ensuring mission critical facilities operate reliably.

Responsibilities include vendor management, space planning implementation, and collaboration with IT to meet corporate needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
• Five+ years of experience in Commercial/Industrial facilities management.
• Knowledge of facility systems and reliability techniques used in large commercial buildings.
• Ability to read and analyze architectural/engineering documents to evaluate solutions.
• Experience preparing and analyzing contracts, bids, and proposals.
• Experience collaborating with teams to resolve issues related to building infrastructure systems.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of SCADA or Building Automation System (BAS) and how data from sensors informs operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; strong written/verbal communication.
• Valid US driver's license and ability to operate on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure safe and functional facilities.
• Negotiate contracts with service providers and inspect facilities for safety compliance.
• Coordinate renovations, updates, and vendor billing reconciliation.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, emergency maintenance, custodial and grounds services.
• Manage corporate contracts for waste management, pest control, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate Space Planning changes and support corporate events related to facilities.
• Ensure mission critical facilities operate reliably and coordinate with IT managers.
