Job summary

The Oak Brook Park District is seeking a Building Engineer to supervise maintenance and custodial staff while managing facility operations across Parks facilities.

You will lead preventive maintenance, supervise trades work, and ensure safety and compliance. The role requires 4+ years in construction trades, a relevant degree preferred, and IL licensure. This on-site position offers full-time hours and a competitive wage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of work experience in the construction trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and framing/drywall).
• Valid Illinois driver’s license required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and service request software.
• First Aid, CPR and AED, Confined Space, Respirator, and Scissor Lift training within six months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage building operations and supervise the Lead Custodian and custodial staff.
• Plan and execute an annual maintenance program for indoor/outdoor tennis facilities and general facility maintenance.
• Inspect, repair and maintain mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems; coordinate repairs as needed.
• Oversee budgeting and procurement of janitorial supplies; liaise with vendors and promote green cleaning where possible.
• Ensure safety of staff and participants; maintain records and support audits.
