Job summary

The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Facilities & Services Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day plant operations and maintenance. You will lead the POM team, manage building systems, and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance across campus.

Responsibilities include managing CMMS workflows, preventive maintenance programs, staff training, budgeting, vendor oversight, and responding to internal requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or facilities management with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Alternative: 5 years of licensed trades experience in a relevant field.
• Experience supervising or leading others preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day POM operations.
• Lead trades teams and coordinate with Director.
• Oversee CMMS workflows and preventive maintenance.
• Develop policies and SOPs for maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety, ADA/OSHA compliance and budget adherence.
