Job summary

Town of Oro Valley is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician I, II, or III to maintain Town facilities, performing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks. The role includes leading lower-level technicians in the absence of supervision and coordinating with outside contractors on complex projects.

The position requires an Associate degree in multiple trades and at least five years of facilities maintenance experience, with a valid Arizona driver license and mandatory safety

Qualifications

• Associates degree in multiple trades and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of facilities maintenance experience across plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC or related work.
• Valid Class D Arizona driver license on hire date.
• Falls Protection, CJIS Safety training and other required certifications.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level inspection, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• Lead and advise lower-level technicians in supervisor's absence.
• Oversee facility maintenance operations in supervisor's absence.
• Prepare material estimates and plans for complex projects.
• Manage small outsourced facility repair projects.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on electrical/plumbing systems.
• Coordinate outside contractors to meet Town standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to others.
• Contribute to budgeting, inventory, procurement, and review contractor bids.
