Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician based at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. The role requires hands-on building maintenance, custodial and horticulture work, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will inspect facilities, manage PM programs, supervise contractors, and respond to emergencies. A driver’s license and the ability to travel statewide are required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and trades experience related to the area of employment.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check including fingerprinting.
• General knowledge of building maintenance, minor construction, custodial and horticulture.

Responsibilities

• Performs hands on maintenance, custodial and horticulture tasks as needed.
• Performs monthly inspections and communicates discrepancies to supervisor.
• Monitors contractors and ensures services are provided accurately.
• Evaluates maintenance requirements and assists in cost analysis and PM programs.
• Responds to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
• Maintains equipment in a safe, professional manner.
