Job summary

The South Carolina DMV is seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Blythewood HQ team. You will perform multi-disciplinary maintenance, custodial, and horticulture tasks, support PM programs, and supervise contractor work within state facility guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent), criminal background check, valid SC driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to travel within the state.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and trades experience related to the area.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check including fingerprinting.
• Ability to operate a PC and learn work order software.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and travel within the state.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-disciplinary maintenance, custodial and horticulture tasks as needed.
• Assist in PM programs and inspect facilities for safety and compliance.
• Monitor contractors and maintain equipment in a safe, professional manner.
• Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis and communicate with managers.
