Job summary

The South Carolina DMV is seeking a motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician based at the SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood. You will perform maintenance, custodial, and minor construction work across state facilities, with travel to branch offices as needed.

Responsibilities include supporting facility management programs, coordinating with vendors, and performing preventative maintenance. A high school diploma and trades experience are required, with HVAC/electrical knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with trades experience.
• Ability to operate a PC and learn work order software.
• HVAC and electrical knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Support all facility management programs at DMV HQ building.
• Escort vendors and ensure goods/services meet contract requirements.
• Augment Fleet management and conduct vehicle-related duties as needed.
• Furniture set-up for functions and events across HQ and branches.
• Perform maintenance, custodial and horticulture tasks; provide PMs as directed.
• Familiarize with contractual limitations on maintenance repairs.
• Conduct walk-around inspections and maintain safety equipment.
• Monitor contractors/suppliers to ensure proper provisioning of goods/services.
• Complete safety training and understand unfamiliar equipment before use.
• Respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
