Job summary

The Gateway Region YMCA in Missouri is seeking a maintenance leader to coordinate facility upkeep, plan preventative maintenance, and ensure safe operation of mechanical systems. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage vendor bids, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations across facilities and grounds.

The role focuses on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for members and staff, while building efficient operations and cost-effective maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
• Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
• Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
• Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.
• May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
• Works with fire, health, building depts. and others to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers.
• Reviews and evaluates performance.
• Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
• Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with YMCA policies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
