Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer I - Facilities in Albuquerque, NM to support SolAero facility maintenance, operations, and improvements. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing or facilities engineering (HVAC, pneumatics, controls and steam) OR 9+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Facilities and equipment maintenance experience in heavily regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices; cleanroom)
• Demonstrated achievements in planning, directing, and implementing complex projects on time and within budget

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute plans to manage all building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, waste).
• Translate manufacturing, processes, and testing to facilities specifications (electrical, network, HVAC, fluids).
• Plan, justify, and support capital projects for facility upgrades and layout improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and subcontractors to ensure facilities equipment meets standards.
• Develop maintenance policies to ensure optimal building functioning and asset uptime.
• Ensure safety standards and budget tracking for maintenance work orders.
• Apply Lean principles to facility design and production system development.
• Support equipment selection, FAT/SAT, and production commissioning.
• Ensure EHS compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; implement preventive maintenance.
