Fairfax Water is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage the design of water supply, treatment, and support facilities, and to drive capital project execution. You will plan, direct, and coordinate teams of consultants, engineers, and technicians across civil, architectural, and electrical disciplines.

The role requires a PE license (or eligibility), a strong background in water utility design, and proven ability to manage contracts, budgets, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer by the Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain by reciprocity within six months of hire.
• Experience in design and construction of water utility infrastructure; surveying, drafting, and development of plans and specifications.

Responsabilités

• Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages the work of consultants and staff involved in design of water utility facilities.
• Oversees management of engineering services contracts, including RFPs, scopes of work, fee negotiation, and contract administration.
• Reviews design submittals for compliance with project objectives; ensures regulatory compliance and coordination with stakeholders.
• Represents Fairfax Water at public meetings and with planning commissions and civic associations.
• Prepares or reviews cost estimates and supports the Capital Improvement Program budget; supports construction-phase activities.
