Joby Aviation is seeking an experienced Facilities Supervisor to lead daily operations, drive maintenance, and ensure reliability of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems at our San Carlos, CA site. The role requires hands-on leadership and strong vendor management.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in facilities or engineering, with a Bachelor’s degree (or 8+ years with HS), and proficiency in CMMS/CAFM and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant facilities/engineering experience, or HS with 8+ years in related fields.
• Hands-on experience with commercial/industrial building systems.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire/life safety, and building controls.
• Experience supervising facilities, maintenance, engineering, or janitorial personnel.
• Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, service contracts, and preventive maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize competing operational needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS/CAFM systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean, and scrappy environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead daily facilities operations and prioritize completion of facility requests.
• Serve as the senior technical resource for Facilities Technicians and Janitorial teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire/life safety, and building system issues.
• Perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs, service contracts, vendors, and contractors.
• Review repair/replacement proposals and provide reliability-based recommendations.
• Supervise and mentor facilities staff and provide performance feedback.
• Respond to facility emergencies including alarms, outages, and system failures.
• Coordinate safety, compliance, and maintenance inspections and corrective actions.
• Support EHS, sustainability, and Green Initiative programs.
• Handle invoices, purchasing, and vendor documentation.
