Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to support the Research Center’s electrical design and operations in Niskayuna, NY. You will oversee electrical shutdowns, lead designs for new equipment, and produce AutoCAD drawings while coordinating with project teams and researchers.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in electrical facilities or design engineering (6+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 10+ years with an Associate) and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or Associate's) with years of electrical facilities or design engineering experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
• Willing to work at the Niskayuna, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical shutdowns for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide direction to Electricians, Technicians and other trade labor.
• Lead electrical designs for new equipment and renovated spaces.
• Develop electrical design drawings using AutoCAD.
• Generate electrical equipment material lists for procurement.
• Work with Project Managers, Researchers and other staff disciplines.
• Perform field work to validate construction drawings with as-built conditions.
• Participate in developing on-site facility electrical requirements.
• Maintain/Update plant electrical single line diagrams.
• Utilize NFPA, NYS Building Code and OSHA regulations.
• Apply engineering software for electrical design and evaluations.
• Manage multiple activities simultaneously.
