Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a facilities management leader to oversee planning, design, and real estate construction/remodeling. You will build strong relationships with operations managers, property managers, and outsourced providers to ensure a safe, well-maintained environment.

You will supervise maintenance, cleaning contracts, vendor negotiations, and contract reviews to optimize equipment life and service quality across all sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4-6 years of related facilities management experience.
• Understanding of budgeting and accounting basics.
• Strong time management; ability to multi-task.
• Procurement and negotiation skills; verbal and written comms.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management, planning, design, and real estate construction/remodeling.
• Maintain relationships with operations managers, property managers and service providers.
• Oversee maintenance, cleaning contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Review contracts, negotiate terms, and optimize equipment life.
• Coordinate security systems, safety drills, and incident responses.
• Support new projects and growth planning by region.
• Monitor security and fire safety equipment inspections.

Job description

Responsible for overseeing and directing the activities associated with facilities management, planning, design, and real estate construction/remodeling. Establishes and maintains good business relationships with operations managers, property managers and outsourced service providers in order to create a safe environment.

• Oversees building maintenance comprised of preventative and upgrade work required for upkeep and improvement of buildings and their components.
• Ensures cleaning is performed to required standards and practices. Maintains relationships and contracts with cleaning vendors.
• Reviews maintenance and service contracts, providing adjustments and recommendations for optimal life of equipment.
• Communicates with contractors and local service group members to constantly ensure a high level of service, including negotiation of any new agreements in conjunction with current contracts.
• Builds and maintains working relationship with vendors and suppliers
• Supports new projects and growth planning for all buildings by region. Review annual routine maintenance and care of existing structures.
• Monitors installation of security system at all locations. Inspects and tests of security hardware and fire safety equipment.
• Develops documents and implement facility safety drills (i.e., fire, storm, emergency).
• Monitors all significant security matters and reports to management and owners, as needed.
• Perform any additional assignments as requested/needed.

Qualifications

• Time management skills and ability to multi-task between a variety of responsibilities
• Procurement and negotiation skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of applications
