Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is seeking a full-time Shop Welder with pipe welding capabilities in Braddock, PA. You will read blueprints, select welding methods, set up parts, and weld in various positions while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications and drawings.
• Operate tools and equipment to prepare the parts that must be welded together.
• Align components using jigs, clamps, calipers, rulers, and other devices.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Assist with repairing machinery or equipment as needed by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Perform non-destructive examination methods, including visual examination and vacuum box tests.
• Use safety equipment and follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain a clean work area.
