Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Senior F5 Network Engineer to lead and optimize F5 BIG IP LTM and GTM/DNS in a large, financial services environment. The role emphasizes hands-on expertise, production readiness, and modernization through automation and IaC.

You will work in a hybrid model across multiple locations and serve as the senior escalation point for complex F5 and network issues, guiding peers and documenting procedures for ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of F5 BIG IP experience.
• Hands-on F5 LTM in large enterprise production environments.
• Hands-on F5 GTM/DNS experience.
• Strong knowledge of load balancing, traffic management, DNS, high availability.
• Experience with F5 migrations, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and complex troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior F5 BIG IP SME with primary responsibility for F5 LTM and GTM/DNS engineering.
• Manage complex enterprise F5 LTM configurations (virtual servers, pools, monitors, profiles, persistence, SSL/TLS).
• Support F5 GTM/DNS including global traffic management and failover.
• Troubleshoot complex F5 production issues related to traffic, DNS, connectivity, and security.
• Perform root cause analysis and act as L3 escalation point for engineering issues.
• Automate F5 configuration with Terraform and IaC practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
