Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a seasoned F5 Systems Administrator to configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP systems and related traffic-management functions for USCENTCOM on the CITS contract.

The role focuses on high availability, security, and performance, with the use of iRules, TLS offloading, and adaptive load-balancing. Candidates must have TS/SCI and related certifications, with on-site duties at MacDill AFB, FL.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP systems, including Load Balancers, ADCs, and SSL offloading.
• Must have deep proficiency in configuring and managing F5 systems for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience with F5 iRules and traffic management policies for application delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex F5 issues, including performance, connectivity, and security problems.
• Must have experience managing workloads and agile tasking using Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, Scrumban, or related Agile methodologies under tight DoW operational timelines.
• Excellent documentation skills for creating and maintaining configuration guides, troubleshooting steps, and change management records.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP systems, including Load Balancers, ADCs, and SSL offloading configurations.
• Design and implement traffic management rules, including GSLB and LSLB.
• Manage F5 configurations for SSL/TLS offloading and certificate management.
• Configure and maintain F5 iRules to manage traffic and enhance functionality.
• Assist in F5 system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality.
• Collaborate on new F5 solutions to improve delivery, scalability, and security.
• Execute daily F5-related tasks and track work in ADO boards.
• Participate in Scrumban planning and reviews for mission-driven priorities.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements for F5 deployments.
• Develop and maintain documentation for F5 configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate F5 solutions into the broader infrastructure.
