Job summary

Northern Technologies Group in Tampa, FL, seeks an experienced F5 Administrator to support USCENTCOM under the CITS contract at MacDill AFB. You will configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP ADCs to ensure secure, highly available, and performant applications for mission-critical services.

The role requires five years with F5 BIG-IP, DoD security credentials, and ability to work with network, systems, and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum five years hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP systems.
• High availability, disaster recovery, and scalability expertise.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience with F5 iRules and traffic management policies.
• Experience with Azure DevOps boards and DoD Agile practices.
• DoD 8140/8570 certification (e.g., Security+).
• Willingness to support USCENTCOM exercises and travel.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP load balancers and ADCs.
• Design and implement GSLB and LSLB traffic management policies.
• Manage SSL/TLS offloading and certificates.
• Configure and maintain iRules.
• Assist with upgrades, patches, and new solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and security issues; support incident response.
• Monitor F5 health; participate in capacity planning.
• Execute daily F5 tasks per deployment deadlines.
• Use Azure DevOps boards to manage tasks and backlogs.
• Ensure configurations comply with security policies.
• Create configuration docs, change records, troubleshooting guides.
• Coordinate with teams to deliver end-to-end delivery.
• Maintain on-call roster.
• Evaluate automation and modern F5 capabilities (iControl REST, tmsh).
