Job summary

Amcor Limited seeks a Technical Specialist to act as the lead process operator for a subsection within the Mundelein production team. The role focuses on optimizing output, reducing waste, and upholding quality and safety standards in a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

You will solve day-to-day process issues, collaborate with Senior Process Specialists and Engineers, and drive continuous improvement across operations to enhance plant efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of production experience in Blown Film Extrusion.
• Knowledge of 5S and standardized work practices.
• Commitment to safety and injury prevention.
• Experience with electronic systems (AS400, Lotus Notes).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Leadership knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department complies with policies, safety requirements and the Safety Guiding Principles.
• Develop team members, provide cross training, and assist in OJT and skill development.
• Inspire and motivate team members; support 6S, TPM and Tier Board activities.
• Lead process improvement efforts to optimize plant efficiencies and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with other plant departments to address process problems (Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Customer Service, Finance).
• Support/lead process improvement activities and identify best practices.
