Job summary

Avient Corporation in North Haven, CT seeks an experienced extrusion operator responsible for set up and operation of blending/extrusion machinery to produce customer products. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and cost control in accordance with Avient policies and ISO/EH&S guidelines.

You will set up and start machines, weigh materials to meet recipe specs, monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues, and document production logs and SAP transactions. Some training of teammates is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years extrusion experience.
• Ability to follow ISO EH&S guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start all machines, checking controls for adherence to blending or extrusion procedures.
• Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and deliver to the work area.
• Monitor production and equipment; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Complete SAP transactions and production logs; maintain required paperwork.
• Train new employees and retrain current staff as required.
• Follow plant safety guidelines and perform basic machine cleaning.
