Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Douglas, GA is seeking an Operator, Extruder 3 to set up and operate complex extrusion lines, including nylon extruders, pay-offs and take-ups. The operator will blend materials and ensure correct wire size and insulation thickness per specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, ability to lift 45 lbs, and basic math. Candidates may cross-train, rotate shifts, and follow ISO quality guidelines. Pay range $28.25–$31.30 hourly on D shift.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must read and comprehend production orders and the instrumentation on complex equipment.
• Must be able to lift 45 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion line with correct die and wire size.
• Maintain correct wire size, insulation thickness and concentricity.
• Apply correct print of acceptable quality on cable.
• Observe Southwire safety rules and maintain housekeeping.
• Keep scrap and inventory tags daily.
• Cross-train on equipment and rotate to cover vacancies.
