Job summary

Southwire Company is seeking an Operator, Extruder 3 to set up and operate complex extrusion lines, blending materials and ensuring quality. You will handle nylon extruders, pay-offs, take-ups, and ensure proper wire size and insulation thickness on produced cables.

The role requires reading production orders, following instructions, and adhering to safety and quality standards in a high-demand manufacturing environment. Lifts up to 45 lbs and long periods of standing are expected.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion line and related equipment with correct tip, die, and wire size.
• Maintain correct wire size, insulation thickness and concentricity.
• Apply correct print quality on cable and ensure products meet specs.
• Follow Southwire safety rules and maintain good housekeeping.
• Minimize wire and compound loss during start-up and changeovers.
