Job summary

GuideWell seeks a Sr. External Affairs Comms Manager to lead external communications across policy, government affairs, and community engagement.

The role acts as the voice for GuideWell with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders, coordinating with Government Affairs and Legal to ensure consistent messaging and credible storytelling. As an individual contributor, you will own the external communications program, drive coalition building, and oversee regional PR agency partnerships,

Qualifications

• 6+ years in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications.
• Experience translating complex policy into clear, persuasive messages.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, and community leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own the external affairs communications program, including public affairs and policy communications.
• Develop and implement an annual external affairs plan aligned to priorities and calendars.
• Create a single GuideWell voice on policy issues and engage federal, state, and local audiences.
• Map and engage key external stakeholders with tailored engagement strategies.
• Lead coalition-building and manage third-party voices for credibility and reach.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs, Legal, Community Relations to integrate messaging.
• Define metrics to measure stakeholder sentiment, narrative penetration, and credibility.
