Job summary

John Muir Health seeks an Expressive Arts Therapist to deliver expressive arts therapy within inpatient and outpatient programs. The role includes 1:1 assessments, group interventions, and collaboration with the department supervisor and treatment teams to ensure patient safety and welfare.

The candidate will write progress notes, participate in interdisciplinary treatment plan meetings, and advocate for the specialization within the clinical program.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in area of specialization is required.
• 1 year behavioral health inpatient experience preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required.
• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training required within 30 days of hire and renewal annually.
• Professional Organization Credential preferred or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 expressive arts therapy assessments for inpatients.
• Lead groups and individual interventions in inpatient and outpatient programs.
• Write progress notes and participate in interdisciplinary treatment plan meetings.
• Represent the specialization and department within the clinical program.
• Provide direct, therapeutically effective treatment that promotes safety and welfare.
