Job summary

Cherokee Nation System Solutions (CNSS) provides support to federal and commercial customers. The Commodity Juris Analyst will support the U.S. Department of State's CEA Division in conducting analytical research, end-use monitoring, and risk assessments related to international defense trade and export controls.

This role supports the Blue Lantern Program, ensuring U.S. defense articles and technology are transferred and used per national security objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, public policy or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in research/policy analysis or geopolitical risk.
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills; synthesize complex information.
• Experience conducting open-source research and evaluating multiple sources.
• Ability to manage multiple analytical tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online research databases/tools.

Responsibilities

• Research and analytical support on foreign entities, end-users, and international transactions related to U.S. defense exports.
• Evaluate information from open-source research, government reporting, and public records to support end-use monitoring.
• Assess geopolitical, economic, and transactional factors for export control or diversion risks.
• Analyze international supply chains and relationships to identify compliance concerns.
• Identify trends related to global defense trade and export control evasion.
