Job summary

Continental Resources, Inc. is seeking a Staff Exploration Geologist in Oklahoma City to lead generation of new exploration prospects and to expand and develop existing plays.

The role requires interpreting well data, integrating geologic parameters, and mentoring junior staff in a collaborative team setting. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in unconventional and conventional reservoirs, with experience in asset development and strategic exploration planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of recent experience with an active exploration and production company.
• An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters into a concise geologic model.
• Utilize geotechnical data to generate models through log correlation, cross-section construction, stratigraphic analysis, and mapping to characterize petroleum systems and play fairways.
• Participate in strategic peer reviews to present and refine interpretations and technical analyses for vetted exploration prospects.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to assess strategic opportunities and develop a portfolio of investment opportunities.
• Effectively utilize advanced geotechnical software tools in interpretation processes.
• Convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports to management and peer reviews.
• Provide guidance to less experienced geoscientists.
• Work in a collaborative environment incorporating diverse data sources to develop team-driven interpretations.
• Communicate strategy, recommendations, and execution plans for capital programs.
