Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Expert Data Scientist to join our team. The role involves driving data-driven decisions, optimizing biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes through data analysis and visualization, establishing data flows from lab systems to data science platforms, and advancing our understanding of bioprocesses.

Responsibilities

1. Lead efforts to establish data flows from laboratory systems to our data science platform, collaborating across IT, engineering, lab teams, and partners to ensure data integrity and security.
2. Learn and utilize tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to address critical scientific and business questions.
3. Design and implement data pipelines for data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and analysis, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques to extract insights.
4. Communicate findings effectively through presentations, visualizations, and storytelling.
5. Develop and maintain data models and schemas to support ongoing analysis and reporting.
6. Provide support for assessments such as process comparability as needed.
7. Stay updated on data technology advancements and recommend improvements.
8. Participate in data projects, defining scope, timelines, and resources, and collaborate with team members to ensure successful execution.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 7 years / Master's Degree with 5 years / PhD with 1 year of experience in bioprocess or data science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python or R.
• Knowledge of bioprocess engineering and biopharmaceutical manufacturing; experience in cell or gene therapy is a plus.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical modeling skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with app development platforms like Redhat Openshift or Posit Connect.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as JSON, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience with industry tools like JMP/JSL/SAS, SIMCA, AVEVA PI.
