Job summary

Airbnb is hiring a Staff Experience Designer in the US remote eligible role. You will partner with writers, researchers, product specialists and engineers to craft beautiful, usable, forward-looking experiences that strengthen emotional connections with our community.

You will lead design across global markets, adapting core experiences to regional needs while feeding insights into product strategy. Expect senior design leadership, a high bar for craft, and collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience.
• Designer/Design Leader with 10+ years of experience.
• Excellent visual and interaction skills and craft.
• Defines the design direction and process and can lead others through it.
• Can accurately scope their work as well as their teammate's.
• Can motivate and drive small to medium teams to transform a product.
• Navigate ambiguity, set vision, and strategy for global products.
• Systems-thinker with the ability to design for offline experiences.
• Experience making complex information easily digestible for audiences.
• Strong storytelling, presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and shape the evolution of the Airbnb platform from a design perspective; ensure consistency with brand architecture and product architecture.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Researchers and Writers to map problems, goals, user flows, prototypes, and launches.
• Influence leadership decisions with a clear point of view and solve highly complex problems autonomously.
• Provide indirect leadership and mentorship for a team of designers across the global audience.
• Indirectly lead the work of a team of designers and engineers as the defacto creative director on innovative projects.
• Build relationships with leaders inside and outside core product teams; strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Understand technological, business and user opportunities and constraints.
• Scope project work with PMs and engineers; define design process and timeline.
