Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks an experienced Executive Underwriter to drive profitable growth in Wholesale Excess Casualty for the Central Region. Focus on primary GL and excess casualty risks, partnering with wholesale brokers to price, structure, and underwrite complex exposures with autonomy and data-driven decision making.

You will build broker partnerships, mentor junior underwriters, and collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, and leadership to execute underwriting strategy and portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent required.
• 5–10 years of progressive underwriting experience; 3+ years in related area preferred.
• CPCU or professional designation preferred.
• Ability to evaluate complex GL and excess casualty risks and structure coverage.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price complex primary GL and excess casualty E&S risks within authority.
• Manage and grow wholesale broker relationships to drive profitable new business.
• Evaluate, structure, and negotiate coverage for complex risks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims, Actuarial, UW Support, and leadership.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters and contribute portfolio insights.
