Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• 7+ years of progressive underwriting experience and/or related business experience (often 10+).
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage construction-focused inland marine risks including builders risk, installation, equipment, project cargo, and infrastructure accounts.
• Develop profitable broker and client relationships and maintain a strong market presence.
• Articulate coverage differences, manuscript wording, valuation and exposure considerations clearly to stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio profitability, rate adequacy, growth opportunities, and risk accumulation across projects and geographies.
• Collaborate with underwriting support, claims, risk engineering, actuarial, product, and legal teams to improve outcomes.
• Mentor and train underwriters and internal partners on construction risk assessment and pricing.
