Job summary

US Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration seeks a Deputy Associate Administrator to provide technical and executive direction over program development, standards and rulemaking, engineering and sciences, approvals and grants for OHMS.

The role supports high-level planning, administration, and coordination with the Associate Administrator to advance the office’s mission and program responsibilities. The position requires ECQ/TQ qualifications and senior leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Executive-level experience in formulating hazardous national materials transportation safety policy, establishing regulatory agendas, and assessing social, economic, and environmental impacts.
• Ability to advise top agency officials on sensitive policy determinations and manage special permits and approvals.
• Experience building partnerships with federal, state, local, tribal governments, industry leaders, and public interest groups.
