Qualifications

• Engineering degree with ABET accreditation or equivalent coursework as outlined in the education requirements.
• Professional registration/licensure as Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) by a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Evidence of passing FE exam or similar licensure requirement.
• Completed coursework in statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields, materials properties, or related engineering sciences.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements enforcement policy on compliance and enforcement matters for federal and state officials.
• Coordinates enforcement procedures and uses evidence-based methods to determine compliance/noncompliance.
• Develops performance measures to track enforcement program impact and coordinates with other agencies.

Education

ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent coursework in engineering/physics

Professional registration or licensure (PE, EI/EIT)

Written FE examination or equivalent for licensure

60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences
